I saw my doc yesterday for my check-up….this is what happened..
I saw the doc today and omg she freaked me out..She heard the one heartbeat….she said 140 bpm and I asked, “well, are there still 2 in there?” She said, “No, just the one”, I said…”So did i lose one because my ultrasound said I had 2 in there!!??” and she said, “Hold on, I didnt look at your chart (UHM DOCTOR HELLO??) and she then lubed me back up and checked the other side of my tummy and found the other heart beat (135 bpm)..OMG i was freaking out for a minute.
My level 2 ultrasound will be Dec 19th at 8:15 am. I plan on taking my digital camera cause you never know if they record these things..and when they do you never know if youll end up with a blank tape (happened with taylor..got home and the tape was blank)
So, since I’m having twins I have to have a level 2 and a perinatoligist will be present so I feel more confident in knowing whats happening. I have to have it at the hospital this time instead of a regular radiology clinic. My doctor said I’ll be having a U/S performed every 4-6 weeks from now on. Thats kinda cool cause I wished I had a window to look inside to see if things are going ok. The anxiety is higher for me this time wondering if they are both healthy. I still can’t believe my doctor fucking overlooked my chart and thought i only had 1 baby. OMG it makes me wonder. Okay well, I know they are doing fine..good heartbeats so I’m happy and feel confident. I have to get cleaning on my bathroom counter..We have our 1 year warranty walk-thru ina couple hours and I’m not ready to have the guy scope my house out.
I think I’m having a boy and a girl…what do you guys think??
Wow…I can’t believe she didn’t check your chart!!!!! I would have been so pissed at her for scaring me like that! Grrrr…
FYI…they wouldn’t let us take pictures or film during the last ultra sound I had…it might be different where you are, but I just wanted to give you a heads-up, just in case they don’t let you
I think it will be 2 girls! My daughters heart beat is 140 something

AH you too!! I feel like i’m finding out so late. i have to wait until the 27th. but in a way that’s cool.it’s like a late xmas gift.
that’d be so great if you had a boy and a girl. if i’d ever have twins i’d want both. it seems everyone who’s pregnant now are having girls. and they say if the heartbeat is over 150ish it’s a girl. hmm don’t know tho. my mom had twins and their heartbeat was 120.
that’s crazy that your doctor didn’t look at your chart. i would have had a cow. that is so freaky!! my heart dropped when i first read that.
why does someone check out your house? ::lost::
LOL Jen, when you buy a new house you have a 1 year walk-thru to check for things that are covered under the warranty. They check for structure problems, electrical, flooring, water issues such as leaks, broken bath fixtures like bathtubs, kicthen cabnets and counters, paint, cracks in the walls…everything. We didn’t have a lot to be fixed so it was a good walk-thru.
I’ve hear lots of things about the heart rates and people think what they do..no one really knows until the baby is born..lol..even ultrasounds can be wrong…you never know if somethings hiding
